Our History
The Gasflux Company was founded in 1938 in Mansfield Ohio with a goal to introduce a flux into the flame for production brazing. The end result was the Gasfluxer which connects directly to the fuel gas line and introduces a flux into the flame. The company expanded significantly in the post war economy as the American manufacturing faced unprecedented growth. In 1956 The Gasflux Company relocated from Mansfield Ohio to its current location in Elyria Ohio.Throughout the years, The Gasflux Company has expanded its business to include Brazing Alloys, Brazing Fluxes, Safety Equipment and Braze Training. Throughout this growth, The Gasflux Company has passed through family generations and is currently on the fourth generation ownership. In the present day, the Gasflux Company has a presence in all major continents. Our products and name are synonymous with quality.

1938 - 1963
The Gasflux Company was founded in Mansfield Ohio
1938
Thomas “TJ” Farquhar was named president of The Gasflux Company.
1941
The Company relocated to its present location in Elyria Ohio due to unprecedented growth during the post war years.
1945–1956
The company purchased the land and building in Elyria Ohio. Construction commenced to add 3,000 sq ft to the existing building to increase capacity.
1958
Bill Farquhar joined The Gasflux Company and was named as President.
1963
Started manufacture of paste fluxes
1966
Introduction of the Gasflux rod business. Started supplying brazing alloys
1972
An additional 2500 sq ft was added for more production due to increased demand for products.
1976
A state of the art shipping and receiving building was constructed which added 1500 sq ft.
1984
The Gasflux Company acquired all property of the former Northwest Vending adding an additional 3000 sq ft.
1990
Bill Farquhar retired, and Bob Farquhar was named as president.
1993
The Gasflux Company purchased land south of the existing building, doubling the size of its property.
1995
Bob Farquhar takes over as CEO in addition to President.
2008
The Company purchases assets from a former vendor consisting of straightening, cutting and flux coating machinery for brazing rod and wire.
2009
Piping system introduced with level indicator
2012
The Gasflux Company becomes ISO 9001
2013
Bill Farquhar passes away. Bob Farquhar purchased the Company the following year
2017
Thomas Farquhar II is named Vice President bringing four generations to the Company.
